I love croissants. I've traveled all over North and South America and Europe. The croissants are as good as any I've had in France. It's simple, casual, and somehow still elegant. Romantic, while remaining rustic. You can plainly tell they take pride in their work and put their souls into it. At least stop in for a croissant.

We live in Fort Lauderdale so we don't venture this far north that often, but I'm certainly glad we did. The croissants and baguettes are perfect, but this little place is much more than a bakery. We were here for brunch and had one of the tastiest meals I have had in a while - delicious escargot, amazing lobster salad, barley soup and chocolate mousse to die for. We'll be back, it's worth the drive.

Every single item of food I've tasted from this place has been yummy and freshly made, but as a former employee I'd like to make note of a few things that one might want to consider before spending their money at an establishment like this. I worked in the kitchen as a dishwasher from July to the end of December of 2013. I was never given a SINGLE DAY OFF in that entire time with the exception of Christmas day, which is the day I decided to liberate myself by quitting. I had to go to and from La Bonne Bouche two times a day to work (12-2pm, then 6-9pm-ish). This is freaking outrageous and was a serious pain in the ass, considering I was only making $9 an hour. The owner told me I wasn't allowed to wear shorts despite working in an extremely hot kitchen in the middle of South Florida summertime. Interestingly, the owner and chef Eric felt it was appropriate to make sexual jokes almost constantly. He took it too far on several occasions by smacking my ass. Not okay. When I acted uncomfortable or shocked at the lewd jokes he made all day, I was reminded that "Americans are prude." Whatever. Don't spend your money where the (married) Chef thinks its okay to smack women's asses without their permission and work them like a slavedriver.

I've been to provincial France and it's in Lake Worth, FL. A most charming french restaurant with a great outdoor area (fountain and music). The Owner/chef takes your order while the wait-staff ensure you have what you need. The food is amazing. We started with pate (Veal and chicken) which was light and delicious. I had the duck and my wife had the wild ocean bass. The duck was the best I've ever had (and I love duck). The skin was crisp like bacon and the meat was succulent, made even more so from an excellent and balanced sauce. The waiter told me that the chef takes four hours to get the sauce just right. The fish was very fresh and prepared to perfection. But the dessert! Oh my goodness the dessert was great. All made fresh by the chef. We had the chocolate mousse and also a filo dough apple tart. My only regret is that I had not found this gem of a cafe before. Rest assured this has become a regular place for us.

Little spot right on lake avenue. Went here for a Bastille Day meal. Had the patee and beef stew. Food was average. Service was uninspiring. Was not given any help when asking for assistance in picking out a wine. Highlight was the musician that played that night. If you want good french food in south florida, try Bistro Provence in Boca.

Very disappointed! Arrived around 8 or so for dessert and coffee. The restaurant was nearly empty, yet staff was alarmed we didn't have a reservation. We attempted to order, but server acted as if we were inconveniencing her. She even made a crack about, "no dessert for you! You're lucky the chef didn't throw you out."We felt so uncomfortable, we chose to leave instead of staying.

I knew about this place and was familiar with their fancy desserts & fresh pastries, so I ordered an assortment of 13 items. I was waited on by the French guy with the bad attitude who owns the place. When he handed me the register tape, I saw that I was charged for 14 items, and brought this to his attention. He argued with me that the tape was correct. So I proceeded to open the packages in front of him so that we could both see how many items I had. There were only 12 items! He had shorted me a pastry, but argued that he had given me the correct number. I repeatedly told him that he had charged me for 14, but only gave me 12. He finally gave me the missing pastry. Then I told him that he had charged me for 1 extra item; he argued with me some more. Over & over again I had to tell him that I only had the 13 items which I ordered, but he charged me for 14 items. After arguing with me for about 5 minutes, and repeatedly looking at the register tape, he finally said he needed to get his glasses. When he put on his glasses, he could see that he overcharged me for 1 item. But instead of voiding the transaction and re-ringing it, he brusquely thrust cash at me for the overcharged item, but NOT the tax on it! I reminded him that he owed me the tax, too, which he also brusquely thrust across the counter. He then wanted me to sign the charge slip, but wouldn't give me the register tape until I told him that if I'm signing a charge slip, I want the itemized register tape that matched the charge amount. He begrudgingly handed it over, and I signed the charge slip. So BEWARE! Be sure you look closely at your bill and pay only for what you get. This guy made TWO mistakes with my order, and argued lengthily with me before he corrected it. You can be sure I won't go back here again!

Wonderful cafe with a European flair, come early for the fresh morning croissants and brioche. Courtyard is a lovely spot to lunch on a cool day, with soups and sandwiches at reasonable prices. Haven't been for dinner but I've noticed the wine and dinner changes posted daily, so must try it soon!

Went for lunch. Had a delicious tomato soup and very good quiche. Mom had a ham and cheese quiche, while boyfriend had an awesome croque monsieur. Sit outside, very cute courtyard.

Small specified lunch menu to soup, salads, sandwiches, and brie. The tomato, mozzarella, and basil sandwich is excellent. The owners/employees speak French (as well as English of course) that adds that extra bit of authenticity. Enjoy a baguette while listening to quaint French tunes, but don't expect fast service if you're in a rush.

Cool courtyard setting. Mom and I had the tomato soup which was as good, if not better than, my childhood homemade memory of really good tomato soup. Quiche was full of delicately sauteed mushrooms in a light pastry shell. Melt in your mouth apple tart for dessert. Very good espresso. Everything made for a lovely SUNDAY BRUNCH experience. We stayed until closing, at 3pm.

Well, if you want a TV dinner, this is the place! By that I mean if you want to dine with a huge TV that dominates the dining room, come here. What a dumb decision the owner/chef made. He had a relatively pleasant atmospheric eatery that is now ruined by the humongous flat screener over the bar. What a shame. Food is okay, but not worth the trip by any means.

Have been here several times now and the food is very fresh and I can always count on an authentic croissant (not the doughy Publix kind). We typically sit outside in the the courtyard on days that are cool enough and it's quite a pleasant little area with a shaded overhang, small water fountain, and French tunes playing in the background. The service can be a bit slow, but this kind of gives the place it's European authenticity which is what I enjoy. The place is owned by a very brusque French gentleman who is generally very nice, but does take some getting used to.
